Who is Isabel Marie? An introduction to who I am

So who is Isabel Marie? I figured you may want to know before you read my blog.

Here are my labels: Student at DePaul University, majoring in Public Relations and Advertising with a Minor in Entrepreneurship. Marketing Intern. Long-time academic overachiever with a burning desire to achieve something greater than academic success…

These labels don’t truly define me. I’ve always found it difficult to fully identify with a job title or other labels. However, I believe I am blessed in this way because I see the bigger picture…and do not let any label define me, good or bad.

Here’s how I would describe my identity:

Isabel is a passionate being filled with ambition, love, and sincerity. When she discovers something she is interested in, she dives in head first. She loves fashion – but mostly the implications of style — and she has always dreamt of helping other women develop their own personal style. She feels her own style has developed quite drastically over the years and adores a challenge like a strict dress-code or a costume party. She is incredibly empathetic and eager to understand those around her. Everyone she meets is at the same level in her mind and deserves the same treatment at that – She sees each person that walks into her life like a new book she gets to read. Speaking of reading, I’d definitely consider her an avid reader. She gravitates toward self development books, memoirs, and historical fiction. More than anything, she loves to write. She’s filled journals with life’s disasters and beautiful endeavors, as well as some subtle poetry. She pulls the majority of her creative inspiration from characters played by Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, and Sophia Loren, books by Elizabeth Gilbert or Oprah, and by late 60's fashion and music. Isabel follows her heart wherever it takes her which often leads to a half-done to-do list but a full heart. In truth, this is really her super power as she sees it; knowing exactly what she likes, what she wants, and following that intuitive feeling.

All in all, I’m here writing this blog because I have a strong desire to help other women get to know themselves. Knowing yourself is truly the greatest pleasure you can ever encounter and you only have one life in this body to do it. I have always dreamt of helping women understand themselves in some way — When I was very young my favorite shows were “What to Wear” and “Extreme Home Makeover,” both shows where the goal was to take a person or a family who felt broken and help them to reinvent themselves. This is exactly what I’ve dreamt of doing in some capacity since a very young age. That being said, I hope to help teach young women how to determine what their personal style is and to discover what they like in every single sense through writing about personal development, fashion, style, beauty tips, and more.
